Week 2 Blog 2 - Ethical and Privacy Concerns Regarding The Advancement of AI Technology

As AI gains more and more depth in both its systems and knowledgebase, it is beginning to become more and more clear that the information being processed by these systems contains sensitive information. If this information were to be obtained through AI and used for malicious purposes, it could spell disaster amongst the general public. The masses would be afraid of AI's capabilities to search vast arrays of databases to find sensitive information. As a result, it must be said that there needs to be some regulations into what AI can and cannot do in order to prevent such a causality.      In my previous blogpost, entitled Similarities Between AI and The Internet I asked ChatGPT to list some similarities between the two. After letting the newly created chatbot to do its magic, I came across a point that resonated with the idea of regulations needed to be placed on AI technologies. I gave ChatGPT the following prompt "Go into further detail regarding Et...

Week 2 Blog 1 - Similarities Between AI and The Internet

In the not so distant past, the internet was a new technology synonymous to what AI is today. As the internet was developing and spreading its roots around the globe, it certainly did a number on the existing industries at the time. Some of the most successful businesses that are around today, have the internet to thank for much of its success. In that same note, it can be said that AI technology is in the same position as the internet once was. In order to be successful in the future, it is likely going to take a great deal of coordination with AI technologies. Utilizing this new form of technology will be a clear indicator of businesses who can adapt to new and more efficient processes quickly and can therefore be an indicator of future success.      I asked ChatGPT to generate a response to the following prompt.  What are some similarities between the internet and AI in terms of how drastically it changed the world around us. Here is a truncate...

Week 1 Blog - My response to AI like ChatGPT

Wow. A singular word was all that I could manage after my first interaction with ChatGPT. The speed at which it was able to create such an in depth blogpost regarding the circumstances of its own creation was astounding.  After creating that blogpost, I set out on reading anything and everything I could find on ChatGPT. My first stop was at an article from Harvard Business Review, titled ChatGPT Is a Tipping Point for AI by Ethan Mollick. After reading this article, I was even more intrigued by ChatGPT and its capabilities. Who could have thought, that a simple chatbot could develop into something so advanced and easy to use. Certainly not me. Now, I am at a loss of words for how wonderful systems like ChatGPT can be for the future of the world. I hope to see many applications of AI like ChatGPT to help advance human society even further.

Week 1 Blog - Diving into AI (My first AI generated Blogpost!)

Before I let ChatGPT take the wheel, I thought I'd preface this blogpost by stating that I am a complete beginner to AI. This upcoming journey will teach me many things about AI and what the future of it can look like. With that being said, here is my first AI generated blogpost regarding the increase in technologies that allowed AI to flourish.  Prompt: Write a Short blog post (3 paragraphs) regarding the changes in technology that allowed AI to advance so quickly in the last three years. Unleashing the Power of AI: Technological Advances Propelling Rapid Progress Introduction: In the last three years, the field of artificial intelligence (AI) has witnessed unprecedented growth and advancement. This accelerated progress can be attributed to a convergence of key technological breakthroughs that have transformed the AI landscape. Week 16 - Where AI is Headed in the Future

Artificial Intelligence is at a point where almost anyone who has access to the Internet has heard of it. But there are still people who do not know for sure what AI is and what its potential uses could be. As it stands, AI is currently used for a multitude of different tasks. Whether it be balancing accounts in a small business or diagnosing patients with physical ailments, AI has the opportunity to succeed at any of these tasks and all of them in between. But with that wide array of tasks that AI is capable of handling, it may seem that there are not many more roads that are left untraveled in terms of new AI capabilities. However, that can all change with a few major advancements in technology, which is not all that far fetched when thinking about the world as a whole. For example, supercomputers that were used to put man on the moon almost fifty years ago have a fraction of the computing power of the computers that are in an everyday household. In fifty years, technology regardin...

Week 16 - Social Media and Its Relation to Marketing

Social Media has gain immense amounts of traction over the past couple of decades. What was once a simple world where people connected, is now a marketing hot spot. With the rise of the Internet came the rise of Social Media. And as more and more people began using the Internet and Social Media, companies took notice. Over time, more and more companies began using Social Media as a way to directly interact and market towards potential customers. Wendy's, for example, uses its Twitter account to directly interact with its primary target audience. The popular fast food restaurant is constantly tweeting funny comments and even getting into Twitter fights with other competitors. By using this tactic, Wendy's is capable of appealing to their target audience who also uses Twitter. Through this form of Social Media, Wendy's can advertise their products and potentially bring in new customers due to its social standing on Social Media. Wendy's is a single example out of hundre...

Week 16 - Google Banned Use of AI Software for Weapons

Google is a huge component to the development of AI. The amount of advancements that came solely from the large amount of money and man hours spent to create their AI has driven the industry forward. However, Google may be headed down a dark path by signing a contract with the United States Department of Defense. However, after many comments regarding the contract, Google put out a statement stating that they will ban the production of Artificial Intelligence software that is capable of being used in weaponry. But what does this mean for Artificial Intelligence in the business world? Well, simply put, not a whole lot. Google is an extremely large company with even larger amounts of resources capable of being used to push the industry forward and away from AI weapons. However, just because Google banned the development of AI weaponry does not mean some other company or even country may develop it. The biggest point about Google banning the development of AI weaponry is not only to preve...
